Broken Heart Land Impact Campaign

About the Campaign

Broken Heart Land is a feature-length documentary that directly addresses the critical issues of HIV/ AIDS awareness, lack of comprehensive sex education, and LGBT rights throughout the American heartland where these issues are still considered taboo.

There are at least 6 states in the U.S. that legally restrict public educators in how they discuss homosexuality and therefore, sex education is not comprehensive.

Partnering with local support organizations in these states such as PFLAG and Trevor Project, the campaign helped facilitate screenings and discussions to raise awareness of these policies, provide access to accurate and helpful resources, as well as strengthen support networks for those that are HIV positive, contemplating suicide, or disconnected from their families.
